Cityscape Collection

Mixed media / Black ink, gold & silver foil on stretched canvas

The Cityscape Collection captures the bold elegance and dynamic rhythm of modern urban life through meticulously crafted mixed media works. Using black ink paired with reflective gold and silver foil, each canvas transforms architectural structures into luminous landscapes—where light, geometry, and human presence intertwine.

From dramatic aerial views to waterfront skylines, these compositions highlight iconic urban silhouettes and their shimmering reflections. The gold foil evokes the glow of city lights at dusk, while silver accents mirror glass, water, and sky—adding a subtle movement that changes with the viewer’s perspective.

This series is not just a representation of buildings, but a celebration of the spirit of cities—their energy, complexity, and timeless beauty. Whether seen from above or across the water, these cityscapes invite contemplation, offering a refined balance between realism and abstraction, shadow and illumination.

Toronto Skyline at Sunset

Medium: Mixed media, gold and silver foil, black ink on canvas
Support: Stretched on 4 cm deep frame
Dimensions: 50 × 50 cm

Viewpoint: From the shores of Lake Ontario

“Toronto Skyline at Sunset” captures the iconic silhouette of downtown Toronto, viewed from across the still waters of Lake Ontario. Executed in mixed media with black ink on canvas, the work focuses on bold architectural contrasts, vertical rhythm, and the mirrored reflection of the skyline on the lake’s surface.

Rendered in a crisp graphic style, the towering buildings and CN Tower emerge with striking clarity against a soft, fading sky. The reflections in the water, broken and abstracted, create a dynamic lower half that balances the structure above—suggesting both the literal and symbolic duality of the city and its image.

The thick 4 cm canvas frame gives the piece presence and sculptural depth, while the square format enhances the sense of balance and symmetry. This piece is both a tribute to urban identity and a study in light, structure, and reflection, freezing a fleeting moment of golden hour in minimalist elegance.

“Toronto from Above – Sunset Reflections” presents a dramatic aerial view of downtown Toronto, bathed in the warm, glowing tones of sunset. The shoreline of Lake Ontario curves gently into the background, anchoring the composition with natural contrast.

Created in mixed media, this piece combines black ink with gold and silver leaf, giving the work a dynamic luminosity. The metallic surfaces capture and reflect light—gold emphasizing the sunset glow over the buildings, while silver evokes the shimmering lake and sky. This interaction of reflective materials brings the artwork to life, changing subtly depending on the angle of view and lighting.

The square format and 4 cm deep canvas frame give the piece a strong, modern presence. More than a cityscape, this work is a tribute to urban rhythm, vertical ambition, and the interplay between architecture and nature—seen from a perspective that feels both powerful and serene.

Created from an original photograph, the image has been transformed using black ink detailing and selective gold foil, applied by hand on stretched canvas.

The interplay of black and gold emphasizes both contrast and texture—sharp architectural lines stand in dialogue with soft, reflective water, while the golden highlights breathe warmth into the stone, wood, and foliage. The result is a piece that feels at once modern and timeless, celebrating the architectural heritage of Västerås with a reverent, almost iconic glow.

This work is part of my ongoing exploration into urban memory and visual alchemy, where ordinary places are elevated through materials that reflect both light and history.

The architectural forms are clean and modern, yet softened by the reflective materials that animate the composition with shifting light.

This 40 × 50 cm canvas is both a portrait of contemporary urban Sweden and a meditative study in light, line, and layered space. It transforms an everyday scene into a moment of quiet elegance—where industrial edges meet poetic detail.
